Father’s Day Praise

Father’s Day is a day to express gratitude. Father’s Day was first celebrated in Spokane, Washington in 1910. Finally, in 1972, it became a national holiday. My father died in 1992 and I’m grateful I had the opportunity to be with him during his last week on this earth. It became a precious time.

It is good to honor and praise our earthly fathers, especially before they die when they can appreciate it. But it is even more fitting to honor and praise our heavenly Father. He is Almighty God, the greatest Father of all time and all places. He created us and all living creatures. He is the Father of Jesus Christ who redeemed us. It is most fitting to give him the honor due him, not just on Father’s Day, but every day.

A few years ago, I wanted to give my heavenly Father a Father’s Day gift, so I wrote this song for him. (Double-click on the link to get a copy.)

Now I Will Soar-PDF

Knowing I am adopted by God, forgiven, restored, loved and guided by him is what makes me feel like soaring.

I love you, my heavenly Father. Judy
