Topical Bible Reading for September

For our September topical Bible-Reading, I decided to focus on the Prayers from the Bible. As with the others, you have permission to print this out and use for your daily Bible Reading.

1. Philippians 1:2–6. Apostle Paul prays for Christians at Philippi (and us). Psalm 8.

2. Genesis 15:1–21. Abram prays about childlessness.

3. Genesis 18:16–33. Abraham intercedes for Sodom and Gomorrah.

4. Genesis 24:12–19 and 42–49. Abraham’s servant prays for a wife for Isaac.
.
5. Genesis 25: 20–26. Isaac prays about Rebekah’s barrenness. See Psalm 5:3,11–12, Psalm 25.

6. Genesis 32:9–12, 24, Gen. 35:9–12. Jacob prays for safety. God reaffirms his covenant with Jacob.

There are other prayers, like in Habakkuk 3: (Even if nothing goes right, can we praise the Lord?) and in Romans 15 and 16.

Many of the Psalms are prayers or contain prayers. (Psalms 61, 70, 71, 73, 86, 102, 108, 119:30–49, 119:66–77, 119:92–105, 119:133–144, 130, 138,139, 143, 145,150)
