Many make New Year’s Resolutions. I prefer to call them plans. In a sense, it feels like a new year gives a chance (or an incentive) to start over—to do life better. That’s what happens in a miraculous way when a person turns his/her life over to Jesus. When Jesus has forgiven our sins, they are gone and we are free. Since Satan no longer has the power to enslave us, to make us do wrong and waste our lives, we can live our lives better, God has set us free.
Even those of us who have been Christians for many years need improvement. With God’s strength and guidance, we can live more satisfying and fruitful lives.
Several times this past year, I felt urged to make a schedule and get organised. Both my writing coach and the Holy Spirit urged me to do so. I had many excuses: “I’m 81 years old. Shouldn’t I just take it easy? allergies, headaches, difficulty in getting enough sleep, desire to read and sleep instead of working at my writing.” However, I do still believe God has called me to write according to his will. Therefore, I should do my best at it until he calls me home.
So I made a schedule and I think it will help me be more efficient in carrying out the writing plans I believe God would like me to do. What kind of plans do you think God would like you to do in this New Year? Have a blessed 2025.
