Circumstances Challenge Trust

Friends and Relatives,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season.

Even if circumstances aren’t to our liking, it can be a wonderful season to those of us who have a relationship with Jesus Christ, having experienced his salvation from the trap of sin.

The circumstances of my husband and I haven’t been the best this year. We’ve been doctoring for one thing or another all year long. Our doctor finally got my medications adjusted so that I’m feeling better. But my husband Paul is still dealing with stuff, first lymphoma, then broken bones, and now confusion.

After six months of chemotherapy, the Oncologist said he was in remission in May. Then on November 1st, he slipped on a rug In our basement and broke his hip. He was starting to make progress in walking with a walker when he fell again and broke his femur a few inches below the broken hip. After surgery in Sioux Falls on Thanksgiving Day, four days later he went to the Orange City swing bed unit for a few days, then to the nursing home in Hull, Iowa called Pleasant Acres for physical therapy. He’s still there and we don’t know when or if he will be able to come home.

Because of these, we have missed going on trips to see our kids and grand-kids and other loved ones. But we enjoy activities in our church and community. And friends are wonderful.

On a happier note:

I was glad to be able to publish these books this fall:

Songs & Poems From a Yielded Heart,Rescued by God's Mercy    The Runaway: A Parable About How God Feels About Rebellion

They are for sale on Amazon.

God bless you all. Judy Vander Wege

Thank you for comment, prayers, and congratulations. I’m glad you had a fun Christmas. Ours was quiet but nice. I took a little tree to the nursing home and decorated it. Paul and I opened our presents there on Christmas Eve. I’m feeling good now and I think maybe he’s a little better.
