Shortly after my husband, Martin, died of cancer, in 2003, I questioned God: “What can I -should I- do now? I chcked into a lonely motel room, half of 1700 miles of my drive from home to my parents’ home in Minnesota. As often seems helpful for me, I turned my emotions into a prayer song.
I Love You, Lord
.
I Love You, Lord! You’re mine forever. You’re my Redeemer, King and Friend.
You’ve paid the price; You died to save me. You gave me life that will never end.
You’ll never leave! You’ll hold me tight. The Devil’s lost. You have won the fight.
What now, my Lord? What shall I do to let You know how much I love You?
.
You gave me peace that I can’t fathom, an inner joy in the midst of pain.
I want to be Your chosen vessel; to live is Christ and to die is gain.
You’ll lead me on o’er land and sea. To be with you is where I want to be.
I love You Lord, I yield to You. A yielded life shows that I love You.

How do we show God we love him? When we praise Him, thank Him, obey Him, and yield to Him, fitting in to His plans, that shows Him that we love Him. And that, in turn, brings comfort and joy to our hearts as well as clarifying what He wants us to do next.
This song is included in my book, Songs & Poems from a Yielded Heart, which is or sale on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, published by Paper Wrights.
